Reforming adult social care – is it just about the money?
Kings Fund Event
This one-day event is for those responsible for adult social care, including commissioners and providers of services. It will focus on a key challenge facing the social care system: how to achieve more with fewer resources.
Through our work on social care we know there is much good practice in the sector. There are areas around the United Kingdom, and internationally, that are managing to integrate and commission services to not only improve efficiencies, but also improve the quality of care and support available.
This event aims to share and spread this good work. It will provide an opportunity for local leaders to come together to learn from new and more established best practice.
Areas of best practice
Conference sessions will shine a spotlight on local examples of effective delivery models that should be in place everywhere. In particular the event will focus on best practice in:
- demand management, commissioning and procurement
- promoting independence
- multidisciplinary team working
- personalisation – ensuring people have choice and control over their support
- the use of digital technology in adult social care.
Options for reforming adult social care
As the Cabinet Office look at options for a more sustainable social care system in the future, the event will also focus on the main components that will influence this: funding, models of care, workforce and the offer to the public
